1.3 Working Principle
Figure 1 Working principleThe basic principle of this instrument is as follow: While X-ray hit the sample, the inner electrons of metal atoms are motivated to escape the track. As a result, the higher-level electronics with certain transition rules get in the trail and generate X-ray due to energy difference(Shown in figure above). The Atomic number varies, thus makes energy release differs, which gives out different kinds of X-rays.
